AIC: A Case Study

Designing for Alice In Chains over the past 12 years has been nothing short of surreal. They’ve been one of my absolute favorite bands since I was a young teenager—I even have lyrics from “Rain When I Die” tattooed on me—so getting to collaborate with them in a creative capacity has been a dream come true. Each record we’ve worked on has brought its own unique design challenge, which is part of what makes the process so rewarding. In addition to the studio albums, working on their 30-year anniversary box sets has been an education in more than just design—it’s taught me a lot about archival digging, packaging logistics, project management, and the importance of assembling the right team to bring these ambitious ideas to life. It’s work I’m deeply proud of, and I don’t take a moment of it for granted.
