We're excited to announce that we'll be showing a collection of work at the Super7 store in San Francisco, opening on April 23rd at 6PM. We'll also be debuting the first colorway of Leroy C., the newest member of the IC family! Super7 will have a limited amount on hand to take home.

We'll be sharing a collection of 20+ posters and prints, including a number of illustrations from our late grandfather, Alfred Paulsen. As someone who influenced our work tremendously and spent much of his young adult life in the bay area, we thought it would be fitting to include some of his work in the show.

We'll also have a few new limited Leroy C. prints available. Come out and say hi!

We recently wrapped two 12" x 12" pieces for Poster Cabaret's annual bicycle art project. 'Spokes' and 'Whino' will be available to purchase next month. Live in or around Austin? Be sure to check out the gallery event celebrating the project: The Poster Cabaret Bicycle Print Show on May 5th at The Gallery Black Lagoon.

Details: A month-long exhibit in May (national bike month) featuring over 60 art prints inspired by the bicycle. Opening: Thursday, May 5, 2011 (6pm-9pm)

Be there!

Here is the cover for an upcoming Demon Hunter release featuring the first 3 albums in one package. The 3 disc set will be available everywhere March 8th. If you've had trouble finding these older releases in a store near you, here's the chance to get them all (and cheaply). As always, the DH demon skull graces the cover, this time made from the trees of my back yard. I gathered up some fallen branches and leaves, constructed the logo on a large sheet of white paper, and Jerad Knudson shot the photo.

Last year, our buddy Josh Higgins asked if we'd cruise down to his city sometime to tell our story and flash some .jpg's on a big screen. We happily agreed, so here we are. We're excited to bring our dog and pony show to the beautiful city of San Diego on April 2nd. We'll be speaking at the legendary Casbah club, but what we're most excited about is The Black Heart Procession will be joining us to shut down the evening. Oh, and a little bonus for you early birds: The first 200 folks through the door get an 18" x 24" silk-screened poster, namely the one you see above. Tickets are $10 advance/$12 day of show and you can purchase them here.

Here's 4 new (ish) books that we've been featured in recently: 1000 Indie Posters by John Foster (out in January), The Graphic Design Exercise Book by Carolyn Knight and Jessica Glaser, Typo Lyrics by Slanted and 1000 Supreme CD Designs by PageOne (This one actually came out in '08 but we spaced on it). Now you know what to get your favorite uncle for the holidays.

As They Sleep is a new band on Solid State Records, bringing some much needed brutality to the masses. This is the album cover that we recently completed for their upcoming release titled Dynasty. We again enlisted photographic/set design whiz Jerad Knudson to help us see the vision through, and we couldn't be happier with the results. Apparently the model is a homeless man that sells newspapers near Jerad's house in Seattle's Capital Hill neighborhood.

It's always a treat to work with comedians - but in this case it's extra fun as Aziz is one of our favorites. Aziz commissioned us to create posters for the New York and DC shows of his upcoming 'Dangerously Delicious Tour'. If you're a fan, you know that Aziz loves food ... and if you have his last album, you know he also loves walking with dinosaurs. These are limited in quantity, but will be arriving in the shop after the dates.

We're excited to have a table at the upcoming Flatstock 27 at Bumbershoot Festival next weekend, Sept. 4-6th. It's always a great hang with fellow poster peeps and an excuse to publicly drool over so much great art. Oh, and just to get this out of the way before it starts: No, we don't have any Phish or Southern Culture On The Skids posters. Hope to see you all out there!

Here's a fun project we recently wrapped with the fine folks at Creature and JanSport. Catch the bus to see The Cave Singers - performing at an undisclosed location. A quick synopsis of the event:

'This summer, JanSport presents the first installment of the Bonfire Sessions, a free concert series celebrating the epic memories that can only be made outdoors. Here’s how it works. The hidden location of the concert is kept secret until the day of the show. All August long, check in here at Unzipped , as well as Facebook and Twitter , to get clues about the band and where to hitch a ride on the 28th. We’re taking a mere two busloads of people, so you’ll want to stay on top of the bus stop spot. And get your best lining-up/dancing shoes on.'

The poster was designed in 2 sizes: 24" x 36" and 18" x 24". 8 colors, screen-printed.
